Updates
I apologize for taking so long to post a blog! I have been very busy lately. I am deep into my first semester of grad classes. I am in an online MA program in Applied Linguistics at the University of New England in New South Wales, Australia. I am really enjoying it and learning a lot. I actually get quite a bit of interaction from classmates. The program is quite well organized.
Damien and I were very happy to have been able to hang out with our good friend Jeremy who was home for a couple weeks at the end of March. We went to a really good restaurant in his hometown of Zionsville that has food so fresh that they don't even have a freezer! Everything is made fresh every day and you can taste the difference! We also went to a nice local venue for live music that is only 5 blocks from our house called Radio Radio and saw a friend of mine perform.
The weather here has gotten very cold. I have had to scrape ice off my windshield quite a few mornings in a row. It is getting very frustrating! I just want it to be warm and nice.
Damien and my dad and I are going on vacation to Australia in 6 weeks! I am very excited and to be honest, it hasn't really sunk in yet that I will going there. I never imagined I would get to go to Australia. I am quite lucky too that his family lives on a farm. They actually have wallabies hopping through their yard on a regular basis! The nearest town to them is Toowoomba which is a sizable inland town about 2 hours west of Brisbane in Queensland. I know the time will go so fast! I am really looking forward to meeting his family!
Damien and I signed up for an organic vegetable co-op this summer with my brother and his wife. Together we paid to get 1 share in the co-op that we will split. So starting in mid-May we will get fresh veggies and fruits from a local Amish farm. We are really looking forward to that, since we are now not eating meat and trying to eat whole foods and stay healthy. We also went to our first meeting of the Indianapolis Sushi club last week. It was fun. 8 people showed up and we got to go to a sushi place in town that we hadn't been to before. As for the sushi, it wasn't the best and we had to wait a long time for it. Probably won't go back, esp. since it was located in a dangerous part of town!
Well, I promised Masayuki that I would sit down and write a blog! I know I promised it over last weekend and so actually I am late. Thanks for kicking me in the butt and making me do it! I really do want to keep up with it. I promise to try and be more punctual about it.
